Mr.
Mathusa became a member of the NYSERDA Board on June 7, 1999, after
serving 20 years on the staff of NYSERDA.
He has 40 years of experience in managing major projects across
the nation in research and development that addressed the accelerated
use of clean fossil fuels, renewable energy resources, and nuclear power
production facilities. Mr. Mathusa was a chief advisor to the federal
and state agencies, e.g., U.S. Department of Energy, U.S. Environmental
Protection Agency, New York State Public Service Commission, New York
State Power Authority, New York State Legislature and Governor's Office.
He was responsible for project management, technology transfer and consultation.
Mr. Mathusa was Staff Engineer to the Vice President of Engineering,
Advisor for Advanced Reactor Concepts to Chairman of the Board, New
England Electric System with the Yankee Atomic Electric Company. He
was also responsible for Chief Utility Research and Demand Management
with the New York State Public Service Commission. Mr. Mathusa joined
NYSERDA in 1978 retiring as the Program Director for Energy Resources,
Transportation, and Environmental Research.
Mr. Mathusa earned his Bachelor's degree in Physics from the State
University in New York at Albany and his Master's degree in Engineering
Management from Northeastern University.
Mr. Mathusa is also a member of the Town of Bethlehem Planning Board
as well as President for the Town of Bethlehem Historical Association.
