2009 Conference New Ideas in Educating a Workforce in Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency

A Solar Kit for the Classroom

The Northeast Sustainable Energy Association (NESEA) is facilitating “A Solar Kit for the Classroom”, a free professional development workshop for formal and non-formal educators on solar energy education.  Become familiar with solar energy concepts. Test out the experiments and give your students the tools they need to understand solar technologies.  This workshop is suitable for teachers who work in grades 5-12. Activities will be grouped by grade-level. This workshop supports NYSERDA's School Power...Naturally 15 Solar Kit lessons found at www.SchoolPowerNaturally.org 
At the workshop educators will receive:
·    engaging, hands-on science and engineering activities that support NYS Learning Standards and Core Curriculum while addressing specific performance indicators; and a free Deluxe Solar Energy Education Kit and support materials for your classroom, center, or institution.
Refreshments provided. Please bring your own bag dinner.

This workshop is part of the Solar Sails New York Project: an Expansion of Solar and Wind Energy Education for School Power...Naturally and Wind Energy Education for School Power...Naturally
